Good Care
Wash Cold/Wash Full: Wash your clothes in cold rather than hot. Wash full loads to save on the amount of energy you use. Switching to an Energy Starmuch as 7,000 gallons of water per year. Use enviro-friendly detergents.
Air Dry: Skip the dryer- it uses lots of energy and emits CO2. Instead, air dry outside or inside. If using a dryer, use dryer balls to shorten drying time. Ditch the dryer sheets, they contain nasty chemicals.
Wash Less: Spot clean. It’s that simple.
Adila Cokar
I started the brand in 2020 after coming face-to-face with the knowledge of the high suicide rates among farmers while on one of my sourcing trips to India.
It was heart-breaking to learn that more than 270,000 cotton farmers alone have committed suicide since 1995 (The Guardian).
Even after years of working with responsible offshore manufacturers using certified organic cotton, I realised that I still had no idea who the farmer was.
This lack of transparency was a red flag. There is a disconnect in the apparel industry, between fashion brands and the maker; and for you, the consumer it is even greater.
So, I decided that I needed to do business differently. I decided to take my 15+ years of experience and knowledge in sourcing and sustainable apparel manufacturing to raise awareness, build a brand that supports farmers and celebrate the makers in the fashion industry and share this information.
Today, I am proud to say that we are a Certified B Corporation, and we use only Certified Fairtrade Cotton sourced from farmers in India.
We stand apart from most ethically labelled brands because we are actively involved in the entire production process and manage the full supply chain – from seed to shelf – and openly share information.
We subscribe to the philosophy of slower production schedules, ethical working conditions, and fair deals for all.
Yes, clothing is still made by people, not machines, and The Good Tee is committed to celebrating the good humans that make our clothes, not machines.
